Call for candidates: Interested in serving on the first elected CHAMP National Board?
CHAMP board members serve without compensation. The first CHAMP National Board election will take place on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014.
The number and duration of CHAMP National Board positions will be determined by the Interim Board by February 25th, 2014. A reasonable expectation is 6 or more positions for active HEMS crew only, and 4 or more for specialists in injury prevention, risk management, aviation safety, education, and HEMS medical oversight.
CHAMP National Board Member candidates should anticipate duties including stewardship of assets, participation in teleconference meetings, establishing and implementing the advocacy platform, promoting the organization and mission, developing CHAMP’s credibility and influence, and conducting elections.
Here is the TIMELINE:
National Board composition established by Interim Board: Tuesday, February 25th, 2014.
Deadline for Board Candidate entries: Tuesday, March 18th, 2014.
Submit candidacy message in 200 words or less to interim chair via Greg@GregWalsh.us by Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.
Candidates may include a head shot, and link to a home page.
Ballots will be mailed after the March 18th candidate deadline for the election 7 weeks later.
CHAMP National Board Election: Tuesday, May 6th, 2014.
Deadline for ballot returns: Tuesday, May 13th, 2014. Ballots must be postmarked no later than May 6th.
Elected CHAMP National Board Members take office Tuesday, May 20th, 2014.
Elected National Board members will elect the Chair on Tuesday May 27th, 2014.
Interim Board Members may stand for election, and must do so to remain on the CHAMP National Board. Interim Board positions dissolve after National Board election results are received and the elected Board is sworn in on May 20th, 2014, unless a full slate of candidates is not seated. If a quorum is elected, the elected National Board Members may appoint Interim Board members to fill vacancies for one term. If a quorum is not elected, the Interim Board will remain in position and conduct another National Board election on or before September 9th, 2014.
